Girls Dominate PSEB Class 8 Results, Reflecting Success of Punjab’s ‘Sikhya Kranti’
Punjab has witnessed a remarkable academic achievement as girls secured 19 out of the top 20 positions in the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) Class 8 results, highlighting the growing impact of the state’s education reforms under the ‘Sikhya Kranti’ initiative.
Leading the merit list, Tamanna from Saraswati Senior Secondary School, Jaito (Faridkot), achieved a perfect score of 600 out of 600, setting an exceptional benchmark for academic excellence.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann praised the outstanding performance of students, especially daughters from modest backgrounds, stating that the results clearly reflect the positive transformation taking place in the state’s education system.
During a felicitation ceremony held on April 12 at his residence, the Chief Minister honoured the toppers and announced that the top 20 students will receive direct admission to the state’s Schools of Eminence without the need for an entrance examination. This move reinforces the government’s focus on recognising talent and ensuring access to quality education.
In addition, the top three rank holders were awarded a cash prize of ₹50,000 each as a token of appreciation for their hard work and dedication. Addressing the students, the Chief Minister encouraged them to stay humble, remain focused, and continue striving for excellence while choosing positive role models.
He further emphasised that government schools in Punjab are undergoing a significant transformation and are gradually setting new standards in the field of education at the national level.
According to him, the confidence, discipline, and determination displayed by these young achievers are a direct result of continuous investment in education. The government remains committed to nurturing every child’s potential by providing modern infrastructure, quality teaching, and a supportive learning environment.
