'Vigilant And Active': CBSE to Take Stern Action Against Those Spreading Fake News And Rumours
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the Class 10th and Class 12th board examinations for 2024 will begin tomorrow, February 15, 2024. In recent times, there has been a disturbing trend of individuals spreading fake question papers on social media platforms during exam periods. To combat this issue, CBSE has issued a stern warning, stating that severe actions will be taken against those found guilty of circulating false information on social media platforms, in accordance with the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Information Technology (IT) Act.
CBSE emphasized its vigilance in cooperation with law enforcement agencies to crack down on individuals involved in disseminating fake news. The board expressed concern over miscreants sharing fabricated images or videos of question papers, claiming to possess access to them in exchange for payment. Such deceptive practices aim to exploit vulnerable students and parents by demanding money in exchange for alleged access to question papers. These deceitful actions not only deceive students and parents but also sow confusion and panic among them.
CBSE has announced that the annual examinations for Class X and XII will take place from February 15 to April 2, 2024. The board has put in place comprehensive measures to ensure the smooth and equitable conduct of the examinations.
