Noida: Class 12 Student Commits Suicide Shortly After Board Exam
A tragic incident unfolded in Noida Extension, where a Class 12 student reportedly ended his own life by jumping from the 22nd floor of a building shortly after completing a board exam. The 19-year-old student, who had experienced academic setbacks after failing the exam the previous year, returned home following the Class 12 English Core exam. The grieving parents discovered the heartbreaking scene and promptly alerted the local Bisrakh police station around 4.20 pm on the same day. The police, along with forensic experts, quickly responded to the tragic event, initiating necessary legal procedures.
During their interaction with the police, the parents revealed that their son had gone to the terrace of the building on the 22nd floor after returning home from the exam. This devastating incident highlights the student’s previous struggles with academic performance, as he had been unable to pass the Class 12 exam in the previous year.
Mental health experts stress the vital role of early intervention by close observers such as family, friends, and peers in recognizing behavioral changes and engaging in compassionate conversations to address underlying issues. In response to the increasing concerns about mental health, the police have consistently urged the public, including students, to call the emergency number 112 for assistance in cases involving suicidal thoughts. The seriousness of such incidents underscores the importance of a collective effort to create an environment where individuals facing challenges feel supported and encouraged to seek help.
