According to officials, the Delhi Directorate of Education has directed private schools in the city that want to raise their tuition to submit their plans before the 2024–2025 academic year begins.
No private unaided school in Delhi that has been given land by government agencies is permitted to increase fees without first receiving permission from the Directorate of Education, according to a circular released on March 27.
All private unaided school administrators and heads are required by the Department of Education to submit their ideas on the official website between April 1 and April 15.
“The private school affiliation criteria include these basic guidelines. As the new academic year gets underway on April 1, we have reissued these directives,” a Delhi government representative told PTI.
A school cannot raise fees until the DoE gives its approval if it does not submit the plan.
The circular also forewarns that schools that raise fees without permission will face severe consequences in line with legal regulations after receiving complaints.
