Volvo Group works with VIT to develop the next generation of auto engineers.
To improve automotive education in India, Volvo Group India Pvt. Ltd. recently partnered with the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT). A customized credit course designed to give students a thorough understanding of the newest automotive industry innovations will be incorporated into VIT’s MTech program as part of this collaboration. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally signed in front of important guests from VIT and Volvo Group India. These guests included Dr. T. Jayabarathi, Registrar, Chancellor G. Viswanathan, Head of Talent Acquisition India, and President and Managing Director of Volvo Group India, Kamal Bali.
This partnership’s main goal is to give students real-world experience and expertise that they may use in the automotive sector. Students will acquire knowledge about current market trends, industry best practices, and practical difficulties through a combination of classroom theory and practical training. The partnership also provides the rare chance of collaborative classes, in which VIT faculty members and Volvo technical experts will collaborate to promote information sharing and skill development.
The President and MD of Volvo Group India, Kamal Bali, underlined the value of industry-academia cooperation in fostering innovation and quality in the automotive industry. He emphasized the necessity for a trained workforce that can keep up with the industry’s changing demands while highlighting the revolutionary potential of future technologies. By partnering with VIT, Volvo Group India aims to nurture talent and cultivate a pool of highly skilled professionals who can contribute meaningfully to the automotive landscape in India.
Additionally, program participants will get the chance to intern at Volvo, giving them practical work experience and maybe opening doors to post-graduate engineering traineeships within the company. These internships will help students to apply their academic knowledge in real settings, so boosting their employability and preparation for the workforce.
In conclusion, the partnership between VIT and Volvo Group India is a big step in the right direction toward closing the knowledge gap that exists between what is taught in schools and what employers in the automotive industry need. Through this relationship, students will receive specialized education and hands-on training that will provide them with the knowledge and abilities necessary to succeed in India’s vibrant and ever changing automotive industry.
